(04-04-2010 02:17 PM)hoorayformetaphors Wrote: [ -> ]I'm really unlucky. I still haven't gotten the drop from 017, and my main characters are level 39 at the part before the dark city.

Has anyone been able to translate the tutorial #60 in the menu, which shows the rare item symbol? Is there something preventing the items from being dropped this early in the game?

I've dealt with finicky drop rates before, but this is ridiculous. I'm not trying to get a random zodiac spear from a chest in ff12, I'm trying to get 1 rare item from 1 monster. When people have gotten 12-13 of the rare items in the game and I'm still struggling to get 1 after well over 1000 battles in the forest, I really need to consider the possibility that this isn't just bad luck, but some sort of seal on the item at this point in the game.

My apologies for ranting, but I have put in significant effort in trying to get the item (my game clock is a little over 40 hours now. Yeah...) I've dealt with 1/256 drops before, so I know when to call shenanigans Smile

Okay, one. You probably did get into 1000 battles but it`s actually the number of those monsters you encounter that counts. That monster doesn`t really apear that often. And if it hardly drops an item, that makes things worse for you. Plus the luck of your characters might help. Also, I`ve took another look at the guidebook and apparently there are requirements to to have the ability to get that item. Sorry I didn`t read it properly and posted it up here. But hey, at least you`ve unlocked tons of moves now and have quite an advantage.

If I remember right, I think you have to beat Lord Agon first (the first battle with Gemumu), if it still doesn`t happen, you might have to beat the game (but I would go with beating the game, just to make sure). But don`t worry about the rare items being obsolete at that point. You can restart the story mode with almost everything you obtained. Including those rare items

I finally obtained all 13 rare items everyone!! I`ll update the list right now so you can decide which monsters to go for when you read it.

Thank you! I knew it had to be something. If at first you don't succeed, call shenanigans.

The guidebook mentioned something about needing "certain requirements", but my translation skills are rather terrible. Well, then, I'm off to the dark city with my now lvl 40 party.
Switch to hard mode, Meta, cause you're gonna breeze through the game if you don't. You're really overleveled now. XD Have fun.

Added the rare drops to first page. I have to keep it separate cause it's important information.
Oy...ok, I need to actually start posting this stuff to the site soon cause it's getting crowded and Spoilers is getting limited and a bit stuffy.

Changed taunt to provoke, BTW.
I already did. I wondered if the difficulty had anything to do with the drops.

Noob question. Is there a section that has treasure map passwords? I've managed to get 20.
I want to make a list for the passwords, but it requires doing the symbols.

If you can get this site to load for you, there's all the Keroro quest codes. That should be plenty right there.

Go to the cardlist section and hope it loads for you. it won't for me, but I've seen other users get it loading.

I'm not fully sure where all the codes are at, I just know Keroro Quest and the Keroro Pirate mechs all have codes.
Gamefaqs has them.

Well yark did you updated about the translation team on gba temp?
You mean, Inoji? Yeah, the guy has them, but it's a little confusing, but better then nothing.

Huh? That has nothing to do with the guide though, unless you mean something else. I can make a post about them asking for a japanese translator.
Darn I can't find dororo's weapon w/ 30 cc. and the dessert painting thing. IDK where is it.
Desert painting is in the Boss' castle. You know the three paintings you had to go through to unlock the route to fight him at, at the end of the game.
It's the left painting BTW.
how about the weapon in the windy mountains. i can't seem to see any more chest.
All rare drops come from enemies, unless you're talking about something else.
