Okay, I am definite NOT going to be nice here since something needs to be done. But, the Oekaki is going to the dogs, aka immatures. Now now, I'm not dissing anybody or calling them off. I am simply saying, people are swearing, using unneeded mass amounts of caps and spamming.
For those of you who are blind to see, go through a couple pages in the Oekaki and tell me there's no such things there in the comments. For those of you doing it, you know who you are. Should one NOT act more mature when typing out your comment? Must you use caps for no given reason? MUST you swear for the sake of being /cool/ just because it seems cool or for laughs? Guess what, it's not cool nor is it funny.
I am simply acting mature upon this matter, I expect better even from mods of the Oekaki, heck, I expect them to act mature as well. But, even when a mod acts like a noob, why are they mod?
Think about it, we need a rule on this and I am just the type of person who will gladly enforce it. This website is SUPPOSED to be better than this yet the Oekaki looks as if it went to the dogs seeing as a good deal of the comments are spam-like, mods cannot tolerate this behavior on the forum so if this rule is on the forum, it should be the same for everything where it gives someone the option to post.
Once again to those out there doing this, I am not against you nor hate you. Only stating something that is needing to be said.
I see what you mean. I hope I'm not one of those people. Then again, I don't really comment enough to be one of them, right..? -shrugs- My comments do have a few capitalized words sometimes, but that's just how I show excitement, and I hardly ever cuss on the Oekaki since a bunch of the members are young. Can I have a PM list of the people acting that way? /curious
--I take that back, I did use the A word on a really cool picture..but that's the last I remember. XD;

I am not giving a list of specific persons, I am not pointing fingers here either.
Am I part of that chain of hatred again? Cool it Desu.
Remember those are kids but even those are kids we enforce the rules but not being a dictator or a terror to them. Even though some of us are in the limits of patience, the people who have been granted the power on the oekaki must have patience or you lose to them. I am not blind on this issue. All we must do is enforce the rules and watch them. If they still persist well, we should handle them according to the rules.
Remember, we are there to guide and help them. Therefore we are there to enforce the rules and regulations as a moderator and not as an elitist. We should not discriminate other people just because of a simple thing. Also we are the models for the young ones of the next generation.
Now you know why I was so glad you got the job. You are more serious than me, and you have lower toleration for these things. The first time I was made mod there. I WIPed some (a lot actually) really bad drawings (things that really go against the rules) then some kid posted a spam image cursing at me. Of course he got kicked out. It also got some kids to stop drawing all together.
I critiqued many drawings and such things. Because of that I got mail from Koi/Wulf telling me to "cut the crap" < or some other phrase. I also got mail from someone telling me the worst excuse for bad drawings, "It's my style" Yes, I was greatly hated. It was funny since I am just doing what I was supposed to do. Some people even called me a bitch for telling the kids what should and should not be done. Oh, well. They all feel the same with any teacher.
You do know how I feel, right? There is something that irks me when I see a kids drawing that is not given enough effort to even have that charm. It is just so tempting to click that WIP button.
TB, I love you. But hell, you need to fix your drawings!
♥♦♣♠
Talking to them one by one about their anomalies is just annoying if there are so many of them. I find that the best solution would be to make a sarcastic drawing then putting the problem to be addressed at the description. It does work to a point, then you will have to remind them again.
They are mostly kids after all. Kids need to have things repeated again and again. Yes, it's irritating, but you'll learn to tolerate.
Please do note that, not all members of the Oekaki are Forum Members
But i did notice, the Oekaki has been going a lil' out of control and spammy,i don't want to spend hard work on something if its just going to be piled with other crappy stuff,i'll bring this up to the staff if needed

Do not tell me to /cool it/, I am serene as can be throughout typing all of this. You are not a part of this so-called "chain of /hatred/", because there is none.
I know there are kids, but kids should not go around swearing like that. Would they do it around their parents? Of course not. I cannot force them to be mature, but they can at least try to contain such foul words. This website is meant to appeal to fans all ages, correct?
I would try to keep the language to their range as well. The last thing I want to see is this site to turn into a swear filled riot, then we would have who-can-swear-the-most competitions, "How @#$^'ed is your day today?" threads, and everything of that sort. I hear enough of this swearing at my house, so it sickens me to see this garbage everywhere I go since this place is my escape from it all.
As said before, I bring /hate/ to nobody. I wish nothing but to keep everything peaceful, I want no trouble with anybody nor do I wish to discriminate them. I will probably have to dish out reminders if it becomes worse again.
I know kids get excited and tend to go overboard, cannot contain or realize that what they say is or is not all out of control in the eyes of others. Therefore I am not "bashing" that, I am not bashing, /hating/, spiting anybody or any specific people or person here. You guys are good people, you can swear me out, dislike me for whatever I may say or do, be in disgust of me, I will still not hate anybody. I am being ever so serene on this situation as I can.
Remember, I am
not here to /hate/ anybody. In fact, the word "hate" is harsh to use in my opinion, therefore I use the word dislike in its place. If you think I dislike you (said users reading this), then incorrect. Never assume whether someone dislikes you until confirmed by said person. I see it as immature to dislike anybody for such little things. Kids will be kids after all. If anything I said has offended you in any way, then I am very sorry to have offended.
I know I am going on here. I only seek suggestions on what could possibly be done besides reminding?
Yeah, some of the people in Oekaki aren't even part of the forum. Mods just need to crack down, which I see Joan made a post about, and just get them to be more proper there as if they were on the main forum.
BTW, this has nothing to do with people's art, it's how they're acting that is the issue. I don't see where art is the main problem(room to grow in art), but moreso the users, themselves, are not following rules fully.
Joan, you know that you were critiquing too harshly at times is part of why you got told to cool it. Just a helpful, but not too extreme critique is all that's needed. If they argue "it's my style" so be it. They're allowed to take advice or not take it, when it comes to art, not their attitude with cussing and cap locking.
Mods are ment to be both firm and nice. These are kids, so being both a friend and someone to keep them from causing massive trouble is needed.
Desu, I'm liking your attitude on this in that you're not gonna beat them down, but wanna get better order on there.
Wafu, this was not directed at you, so no hatred was put on you.
Just gotta keep talking to them(noting or some way to get them to notice) and maybe restricting their drawing time if needed if they don't cool down.

I see your point. Reminding them is the way for now (But not the annoying nor the bullying way) and as yark stated, Mods should be firm and nice. I agree to your proposal to add a new rule so everyone could be reminded and follow the regulations. I know your serious about this issue but let's take it easy ad let not our emotions go part of it.
...
Yes ma'm... I'll mature and post constructive comments.
And no Desu, I love you for this, no joke.
