No, because the younger members of the forums can't handle the politics.

I was kind of thinking of this.
The staff and I have actually been thinking of making a "News Box" on top of the forums of any news (of course, they will be short, sweet, and to the point and will most likely will be followed by a link). I've constructed News Boxes in the past, so I can make one that looks nice and Keroro related.

What is meant by "news"? Is the OP referring to IRL current events-type topics? Politics and this & that?

But this forum is made up of a bunch of 8-16 year olds who don't even know what a "politics" is. (Like me :B)
If anything crazy, like the o-zone layer breaks, couldn't we just have General Discussions for that? D :

Aha, then in that case, I say it's not a good idea.
I was once active in a forum where the members were on average 30+ years old. The news/politics forum had to be completely eliminated in what was one of the biggest [redacted]-storms of the forum's history. Years later, it was reinstated for donator members, and then had to be removed again for the same reason. News & Politics was henceforth taboo on that forum, and could get you a warning.
Another forum I frequent, is populated by members whose ages run anywhere between 20+ to 80+. Go into the news forum there if you like silly arguments and personal attacks. There is now a separate subforum with a warning label on it for such topics...
Now, as for KWF. It's members are mostly under the age of 18. Dear Lord, I shudder to think of it...
